PTA/ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT SUMMARY FOR November 13TH MEETING
  • Thank you to Dr. Rachel Lambden for her informative talk on Tobacco and Nutrition Awareness! Dr. Lambden, along with Dr. Debra Gradick and Nurse Practitioner, Jennifer Riccio, will be presenting the Tar Wars Program to the secondary grades and potentially for the primary grades. PTA has approved a motion to fund the Tar Wars and Nutrition Awareness program in the amount of $400. Contact Dr. Lambden if you're interested in helping present these programs to the classrooms.
  • Thank you to Guen Sublette for the fantastic job she did on the Reflections program!
  • We have 100% of our staff and faculty belonging to PTA!
  • Caroline Avey needs a few parents and a staff member to help complete an assessment for accreditation as a National PTA School of Excellence. The assessment will take approximately 2 hours to complete. Let Caroline know if you are interested in helping with this.
  • PTA is purchasing a book called, Building Successful Partnerships, for our library.
  • Ms. Frymier asked for interest in parenting workshops dealing with issues such as taking charge of your TV and how to help your child succeed at home, in school and in the community. Look for more information regarding the workshops in January.
  • Ms. Namura reported on the Nov. 1st staff development day. The staff worked on value statements to help build a collaborative learning environment throughout the school.
  • Join us for the January 15th meeting at 9 am to hear guest speaker, Cindy Stevenson, Jeffco superintendent, talk to us about district issues. *Please note the change in meeting time.
  • Ms. Namura has asked the town of Morrison to send a notification letter to Red Rocks confirming that the water is safe for drinking at school.
  • Kim Sherrard gave a summary of the Gifted and Talented children workshop she attended on Nov. 2nd. She will leave a packet of information in the office for parents to peruse. Thank you, Kim, for taking the time to attend this event and gather information for our school!
  • WANTED! Arts Around Volunteers ~ No experience is necessary! It's an easy and fun way to be involved in the classroom. Please contact Sofia Frederick if you are interested. Kindergarten and 1st grade volunteers are especially needed.
  • The Adopt a Family program is underway for the holidays. Please contact Nancy Benioff or your classroom coordinator, if you have any questions concerning the program.
  • Spend a morning helping kids do their holiday shopping. Consider volunteering for the Holiday Gift Shop on Dec. 4th or 5th. Contact Kristy Fair if interested.
  • Remember to join the 2nd Cup Coffee Club on Dec. 4th!
Put December 4th on your calendar for a short PTA/Accountability meeting at Caroline Avey's house followed by a holiday social. Contact Kathy Frymier if you'd like to participate in bringing snacks.
